About Us

Milcord was founded in 2003 to apply emerging information technology solutions to our national security problems in the post 9-11 era. Having managed hundreds of R&D projects, raised more than $50M equity capital, and lead M&A and IPO transactions, Milcord management has operational management experience built over an exceptional track record of growing information technology startups. Dr. Alper Caglayan, President, has co-founded four companies including Peoplestreet, a venture backed startup; Open Sesame, a government R&D technology spin-off now part of Adobe; Bowne Internet Solutions, a 250 person Internet rollup now part of Lionbridge; and Charles River Analytics, a government contract R&D firm. Milcord employs solution development methodology consisting of up front design of a commercialization strategy that facilitates and accelerates innovation from research through commercialization, leverage of the complementary experience of our team and partners to reduce project risk and accelerate the research to commercialization cycle, and a disciplined project execution process based on successive refinement, from concept, research, analysis, design, prototype development, laboratory and field testing, software and system development, and technology transition and commercialization.
