| Building Intent is a data-driven spatiotemporal profiling system that, given a set of adversary goals, finds the utility function from observed adversary behavior and generates inferences and predictions regarding the location of facilities that support adversary operations in the urban environment. | Course of Action (COA) - available both as a Web or mobile application - integrates temporal and spatial data from multiple intelligence sources, identifies patterns in historical data, and predicts future actions at specified spatial locations. | The Predictive Societal Indicators of Radicalism (PSIR) Political Violence Model forecasts political violence levels at quarterly and yearly intervals into the future. Our model considers a more strategic approach to identifying areas at risk for harboring the conditions necessary to sustain criminal networks and militant activities, capturing the pulse of a population and how it views governing authorities. |
As part of the Social Network Analysis Reachback Capability (SNARC) project lead by MITRE in support of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command (IJC), Network Effects Cell (NEC), we leveraged our open-source business intelligence platform, Socio-Cultural Analytics, to perform a multidimensional analysis of survey data from Afghanistan. | As an addition to our Socio-Cultural Analytics tool, we implemented an application that scores the negative versus positive emotion of social media and news content towards a particular entity. | In this project we developed a geospatial Decision Modeler tool built on decision science principles. The Decision Modeler enables operators to model the operational environment to answer what-if type planning and resource allocation questions. |
| Risk-based Route Planning is a Google Maps-based mobile application allowing the user to plan safe routes by avoiding known hotspots and predicted hotspots learned from patterns of past incidents. | Understanding the rumor environment can help provide situational awareness about evolving socio-cultural dynamics relevant for operations. Our model framework can be used to study the rumor subject, target, and influence on target. |
