Computational Research Scientist

  • Job Description:

Seeking self-motivated, creative computational scientist to contribute to the research & development of data and knowledge driven models for analyzing and forecasting Stability, Security, Transition and Reconstruction operations. Under multiple projects in this area, you will work on assessing the state of the art, conducting original research by prototyping models using in-house and open source data analytics tools, writing research proposals, leading the execution of R&D projects, making client presentations and publishing in peer reviewed technical forums.

  • Requirements:

Advanced degree in a computational discipline (e.g. System Theory, Operations Research, Knowledge Management, or equivalent), experience in modeling and simulation of social and behavioral phenomena using real world data a must. System modeling, statistical decision theory, and knowledge management application design expertise required. Proven prototyping experience, computational data modeling expertise, strong oral and written communication skills. The position demands a scientist with a positive and proactive attitude who can thrive in a collaborative environment. US Citizenship or Permanent Visa is required.

Software Engineer - R&D

This position involves the development of innovative state-of-the-art knowledge management applications that provide decision makers with context-specific, real-time situational awareness of the status of critical information resources. In this position, you will lead the design, prototyping, and development of software agents that monitor, learn and automate user interactions with Web services applications. You will also be contributing to customer presentations, developing proposals, and publishing reports.

  • Requirements:

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent, 2-5 years of software requirements elicitation and specification using UML, software architecture, design and implementation experience of n-tier SOAP based Web services using C++, C# or Java programming, proven prototyping and iterative development experience, solid software engineering practices, applied AI knowledge with OLAP, machine learning and rule based systems experience, strong oral and written communication skills, and US Citizenship or Permanent Visa are required.

Research Scientist - Information Security

Seeking self motivated and collaborative information security professional to contribute to the research & development of solutions for detecting malicious behavior and analyzing risk in cybersecurity applications. Under multiple projects in this area, you will work on researching the state of the art, prototyping using in house and open source decision information security tools and data services, contributing to the development of information security data service offerings, writing proposals, making client presentations and publishing in peer reviewed journals.

  • Requirements:

Advanced degree (i.e. MS, PhD) in Computer Science, or equivalent, security certification credentials (e.g. CISSP), 5 years of Software Engineering architecture, design and implementation experience with 3 years on full-scale infosec systems. Knowledge of DNS infrastructure, system modeling, statistical decision theory, and knowledge management application design expertise required. Familiary with botnets and data exfiltration, SIM, IDS tools, NetOps, and Computer Network Defense (CND) operations a plus. Proven prototyping experience, computational data modeling expertise, strong oral and written communication skills. The position demands a scientist with a positive and proactive attitude who can thrive in a collaborative environment. US Citizenship and ability to get DoD Secret clearance required.

Software Engineer - Semantic Web

Job Description: In this position, you'll design, prototype and develop innovative, state-of-the-art knowledge management software applications for various federal agencies. The research & development projects you'll make an impact on involve behavioral modeling and forecasting in the areas of counterinsurgency, political instability, and Stability, Security, Transition and Reconstruction (SSTR) operations and its commercialization for the business intelligence market. We're seeking people who are knowledgeable with emerging semantic web technologies and are able to evaluate and leverage open source software tools where applicable to a given problem. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to customer presentations, develop proposals and publish reports.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 3 years of commercial software development experience
  • Demonstrable prototyping and iterative, agile development experience
  • Proven software engineering knowledge and practice
  • Familiarity with structured wiki, RDF/OWL, Sparql and RDF triplestores is highly desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Visa are required, no exceptions. The ability to obtain US security clearance is highly desired, although not a requirement for this position.
